Auckland (HRNW): International Airport has been evacuated after a false fire alarm. Northern Fire Communications said the international terminal at the airport had been evacuated by a fire alarm, and firefighters were there now.
They said reports of smoke coming from underneath a door in the terminal were false.
Auckland Airport said a smoke detector had gone off when it shouldn’t have, and some flights had been delayed temporarily.
An airport spokesperson could not say how many people had been affected, or how many flights.
However, the airport said operations were in the process of returning to normal.
