PM REVIEWS PERFORMANCE OF PIA

Islamabad (HRNW): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday presided a meeting held in Islamabad to review performance of Pakistan International Airlines.Prime Minister was briefed about the growth in shares volume of PIA at domestic as well in international market.The meeting was informed that in domestic market, PIA shares have increase from 47 percent to 58 percent while in international market to shares volume has increased from 23 percent to 27 percent as compared to last year.

The Prime Minister was briefed that average daily departures increased from 94 flights in March last year to 121 flights in March this year. The participants of the meeting briefed that New Lean Organization Structure has been approved by the PIA Board of Directors.

Central Reservation Control has been shifted from Karachi to Islamabad with fully automated systems to curb inventory abuse. The Prime Minister was also briefed on the affairs of the Premier Airlines particularly proposed steps related to human resource activity.

The Prime Minister directed to ensure best cabin crew and catering services for the Premier Airways in order to achieve high service standards.

Meanwhile, talking to Punjab Minister for Labor Raja Ashfaq Sarwar in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that development projects initiated by Punjab Government will generate job opportunities and will improve infrastructure in the province.

He said development projects will bring economic prosperity and reduce poverty in the province. Nawaz Sharif said elected government and elected representatives have the responsibility of public service.

The Minister apprised Prime Minister about projects and policies initiated for development of human resource and infrastructure.
