Islamabad (HRNW): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter (APHC-AJK), held a protest in Islamabad today (Wednesday), against killings of innocent civilians by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.Besides the Kashmiri leaders, a large number of Pakistanis also participated in the protest. The protesters were carrying placards and banners seeking UN role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute and an end to Indian oppression in the occupied territory. They raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
The participants termed the Uri incident a conspiracy of Indian secret agencies to distract world’s attentionfrom the Kashmir dispute at a time when the UN General Assembly session is underway in New York.
The participants called upon the United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute according to the UNSC resolutions on Kashmir.
More than 100 Kashmiris have been killed and thousands wounded in protest-related violence, mostly by the Indian forces firing bullets and pellets during the two months.
Curfews, a series of communication blackouts and the deployment of tens of thousands of Indian soldiers have failed to stop the protests against Indian rule.
