Karachi (HRNW): Former Sindh minister Jam Khan Shoro arrived at the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday in connection with hearing of his petition against National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiries related to land allotments. A division bench of the high court will hear the petition as Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General has been summoned along with the relevant record of land allotments in the city. In the previous hearing, the court had extended Jam Shoro’s pre-arrest bail till March 14, which ceases to have effect today.
The division bench headed by SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh had directed DG KDA to appear in person along with the record of the allotments of lands in the city. A NAB prosecutor told the court that three different inquiries were being carried out against the former local government minister, one of them pertained to illegal allotment of 62 government plots in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. NAB said illegal allotment of plots cost the national exchequer Rs180 million. Former Director General of KDA Nasir Abbas has also been arrested in the same case.
