Sindh Government Approves Health Insurance for Sindh Secretariat Employees and Their Families .

Karachi (HRNW) In a groundbreaking move, the Sindh government has approved health insurance for Sindh Secretariat employees and their families. This historic agreement between the Sindh Government and State Life Insurance will extend comprehensive health coverage to the employees of the Sindh Secretariat, Chief Minister’s House, Governor’s Secretariat, and Sindh Assembly.

The agreement was signed by Secretary General Administration (SGA&CD) Sohail Ahmed Qureshi on behalf of the Sindh Government, and by Shahid Iqbal Baloch, the Executive Director of State Life Insurance. Special Secretary Muhamamd Zaman Narejo, Irshad Ali Sodhar and Shoaib Javed Hussain CEO SLIC and other officers of State Life Insurance were also present at the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Secretary GA Sohail Ahmed Qureshi hailed this agreement as a significant step towards employee welfare. He stated that under this plan, each family member of the employees will be entitled to a health insurance policy worth Rs 700,000, enabling them to receive medical treatment at 800 plus hospitals across Pakistan, including including 176 hospitals in Sindh featuring renowned private hospitals. A dedicated cell will be set up within the Services General Administration department to manage this policy, and all records will be linked with NADRA to ensure transparency and ease of access.

Following the approval of this policy, there was an overwhelming sense of joy among the Sindh Secretariat employees, who celebrated this decision. Leaders of Sindh Sindh Secretariat Officers Welfare Association (SOWA) and Sindh Secretariat Employees Non Gazetted Welfare Association (SENWA) expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Secretary General Administration, and other relevant officials for their efforts in securing this benefit.

Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah also extended his congratulations to all employees, stating that this initiative would greatly benefit 24,639 employees and their dependents. He further highlighted that the government would spend Rs 402 million annually on this scheme. This health insurance policy is a vital step toward ensuring the health and well-being of the employees and their families and marks a new era of support for government employees.
