PTI, PPP marchers come face to face in Sindh’s Kandiari

Ghotki (HRNW) A major political clash has been averted in Sindh.

The province is buzzing with political activities this week. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are taking out long marches, albeit in opposite directions.

PTI started its “‘Haqooq-e-Sindh March” from Ghotki towards Karachi. PPP’s “Awami March” is heading towards Islamabad from Karachi. They were supposed to come face to face at some point. Although Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday changed the route of his march, the two groups of marchers did come across each other on Wednesday.

Media reported that in Kandiari PPP workers stopped PTI’s convoy and chanted slogans. They were wielding sticks.

As the tensions grow, police arrived at the spot to clear the path for PTI’s convoy which included federal ministers Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Ali Zaidi.

The police cordoned ministers’ cars.

After half an hour, police successfully moved PPP workers away and the PTI’s march moved ahead.
