LHC rejects NAB plea against granting permanent exemption to Shehbaz Sharif

LAHORE (HRNW) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday has rejected National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) petition seeking immediate suspension of accountability court decision regarding giving exemption to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif from appearing in the hearings.

According to details, a two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi heard the case during which, NAB prosecutor told that accountability court had granted permanent exemption to Shehbaz Sharif on January 17 in Ashiana Iqbal and Ramzan Sugar Mills references.

The trial court had accepted Shehbaz Sharif’s plea without following legal requirements, therefore, the court should annul this decision and direct PML-N president to rejoin the trial, he requested.
