Eid-ul-Fitr to fall on May 24, predicts Fawad Chaudhry

London (HRNW) – Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday said that the calendar released by the ministry shows that the EidulFitr would fall on Sunday May 24.

While addressing Virtual Meet the Press to overseas journalists organized by Pakistan Press Club International, Fawad Chaudhry said that the sighting of the crescent has become a sectarian issue, while Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and Mufti Popalzai stand on two extremes.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the government always says that whatever time passes is good. Sometimes it becomes a problem with Popalzai and sometimes with Mufti Muneeb.

Talking about coronavirus, he said that the situation in Pakistan is still under control, adding that 47 people are on ventilator. “The population is so large that it would be difficult to handle the situation if it worsens,” he added.
