FIR registered against building owner in Lyari building collapse

Karachi  (HRNW)  An FIR has been registered in the Lyari building collapse that claimed 22 lives on June 7.

The case has been registered at the Kalri police station against the building’s owner.

The building collapsed on June 7 night in Lyari’s Khadda Market. Some residents had already left the building before it collapse but a number of them were still living there.

Twenty-two bodies were retrieved from beneath the rubble in a three-day rescue operation.

The FIR has been registered under sections of negligence, damage, lack of concern and endangering human lives.
