Berlin (dpa) – Bundesliga top scorer Robert Lewandowski from champions Bayern Munich has been voted best outfield player of the season by the league’s players, in a poll conducted by Kicker magazine.
Kicker said on Monday that Poland’s Lewandowski garnered 42.6 per cent of the votes from 270 top flight players to finish far ahead of Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho (14.1) and Munich midfielder and defender Joshua Kimmich (12.2).
Lewandowski scored 34 goals to become Bundesliga top scorer a fifth time in his career. He has 51 goals in all competitions, a tally he can better when the Champions League is completed next month.
