NAB recovered Rs363.91 billion in two years

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered and deposited Rs 363.91 billion in the national exchequer in the last two years.

According to sources, the NAB was set up under the NAB Ordinance 1999, which was promulgated to eradicate corruption from the country by pursuing a policy of awareness, prevention and enforcement.

The NAB has been made a functioning body and the efficiency and capacity of the NAB has improved under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.

NAB had fixed ten months’ time to complete the process right from initiating the investigations to filing a reference against the suspect.

NAB received 75,268 complaints during the last two years out of which action on 66,838 has been completed. The bureau also approved 1240 inquiries while 1220 were completed.
