UEFA: Bayern game against Atletico to take place as planned

The Bayern Munich Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid will take place as planned, a spokesman for ruling body UEFA told dpa on Wednesday.

“The game goes on as planned,” he said. Further details were not given.

On Tuesday evening Bayern said forward Serge Gnabry tested positive for the coronavirus. The player is already in quarantine, but will miss Wednesday’s game against Atletico, Saturday’s Bundesliga date with Eintracht Frankfurt, and possibly also more games next week.

Gnabry trained with the team on Tuesday morning and as a result all players had to undergo another coronavirus test on Wednesday morning. Bayern still haven’t revealed the results.
