Sydney (HRNW) A new set of five postage stamps paying tribute to “frontline heroes” features a Muslim healthcare worker wearing a headscarf.
As well as healthcare staff, the new collection, created by Australia Post, pays tribute to the police, educators, and essential workers like postal workers, supermarket staff and delivery drivers.
Nicole Sheffield, Australia Post’s General Manager, said the stamps represent the everyday heroes “who continue to keep the country moving by providing important services to the community.
“These brave individuals have been saviours to us all through the last 12 months, caring for our most vulnerable and helping us cope with the many impacts of Covid-19,” she said. “Healthcare workers have tested millions, Australian Defence Force and the police services have helped monitor our borders and quarantine arrangements, and educators have been quick to adapt to online learning.
