Pakistan Day seminars held at UO

Okara (HRNW) A series of seminars were held at the University of Okara in connection with the Pakistan Day. The first event was organized by the Department of Communication Studies while the Department of Political Studies and Department of International Relations organized a joint session to sensitize the students on the signification of Pakistan Resolution and Pakistan Ideology.

The UO Vice Chancllor, Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar, in his special message on the eve said that it was impertinent to impart the youth the essence of the Two Nation Theory and how our ancestors struggled and sacrificed for the establishment of an independent homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent.
Highlighting the role of the Muslim press in Pakistan movement, Dr Zahid Bilal, In-Charge Department of Communication Studies, told that journalism was meant to empower the downtrodden and bring positive change in the society.
Usman Shamim, In-Charge Department of Political Science, discussed the events that led to the Pakistan resolution and urged the students to ensure their healthy political participation in order to ensure rule of law and democracy in the country.
Fakhara Shaid, In-Charge Department of International Relations, argued, “the Two Nation Theory is our identity and we have to own it and be proud of it in order to establish our distinctiveness in international community”.
The students also presented national anthem and hoisted the flag.
