Islamabad (HRNW) US Chargé d’affaires a.i. Angela Aggeler called on Federal Minister Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi in his office in Islamabad today. Federal secretary Maritime Rizwan Ahmed was also present. Matters of mutual interest were discussed at length.
Minister Zaidi laid out his vision for the maritime sector, encouraged joint ventures and assured full facilitation to US Companies willing to invest in Pakistan.
Chargé d’affaires a.i. Angela showed keen interest in Gwadar and both minister and her also discussed massive potential of Afghan transit through Gwadar port.
Chargé d’affaires a.i. Angela was apprised about issues being faced by Pakistani seafarers, especially their issuance of visas by US Embassy, to which she assured cooperation and committed to take it up with the relevant authorities.
Chargé d’affaires a.i. Angela thanked minister Zaidi for welcoming her and both agreed on keeping a close contact and enhancing the working relationship between both the nations.
