Karachi (HRNW) The Sindh High Court has called for a plan to fix the official price of milk in Karachi.

On Friday, May 7, the court heard a petition against the sharp rise in milk prices.

During the hearing, the public prosecutor told the court that the price was fixed at Rs 94 per liter but it was being sold at Rs 120 per liter.

The assistant commissioner told the court that the price of milk was fixed at Rs 94 in 2018. They held a meeting with retailers but did not agree while Milk retailers wanted the price of milk at Rs 140 to Rs 150 per liter.

The court sought a plan to fix the official price, saying that the new official price of milk could be fixed and the sale of milk at the official price could be ensured.

The court also summoned the president of Milk Welfare Association and adjourned the hearing of the case till June 10.
