KarachiĀ  (HRNW) Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Sindh Sadiq Ali Memon has said that extra curriculum activities are as important as curriculum activities, because such activities develop confidence among students with disabilities and they perform well. This he said while visiting Ida Rieu School and College for Blind and Deaf adjacent to Quaid e Azam tomb here on Thursday. On this occasion Regional Director Karachi Jhamandas Rathi, President Ida Rieu Nadra Punjwani Finance Secretary Ms. Rabica, Principal Muzna Masood and others were also present.

It is to mention here that a football ground for visually impaired students will be inaugurated on 27th September by President of Pakistan. SACM on DEPD Sadiq Ali Memon visited to see the arrangements for the upcoming event. On this occasion Nadra Punjwani briefed SACM Sadiq Ali Memon regarding inauguration ceremony arrangements and the facilities which were being provided to the visually and hearing impaired students there. SACM on DEPD Sadiq Ali Memon was told that as many as 750 students with disabilities were getting education, books, uniforms and transportation free of cost.

SACM on DEPD Sadiq Ali Memon asked the management of Ida institute to extend their services for other parts of the province and he also assured them the support of Sindh Government in this regard. He said that Sindh Government was also providing education, health care, vocational and rehabilitation facilities to the persons with disabilities and also seek the cooperation of private sector to enable these persons with disabilities as a useful member of the society.
