POL prices are much higher in India than Pakistan: Mussadiq Malik

Islamabad (HRNW) Federal Minister of State for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik Friday said the petroleum (POL) prices in neighboring country India are much higher than in Pakistan.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Mussadik went on to say that the price of petrol in India is Rs250.17, adding that in Pakistan it is available at Rs189.

Federal Minister of State lambasted former premier Imran Khan and went on to say that the latter is responsible for bringing the country to the brink of bankruptcy.

Dr Musadik Malik said the PTI government was providing a direct subsidy of Rs120 per month on POL products without the approval of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).

Musadik Malik asked the PTI Chairman to show any government to government agreement or memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Russia, which can prove that his (Imran Khan) government was going to buy the POL products at cheaper prices.

Mussadik said the coalition government is committed to implementing a comprehensive strategy, in order to save the poor segment of society from the impact of whooping petroleum prices.
