NOC of security clearance of ARY News cancelled

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) Government has canceled the NOC of ARY News.
The Home Ministry has canceled the security clearance of ARY News Channel based on negative reports from NOC agencies.
A few days ago, ARY News Channel had aired the statement of Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shehbaz Gul about inciting a mutiny within the army.
Cases have also been registered against channel owner and anchor Arshad Sharif.
The Federal Ministry of Interior has issued a notification to cancel the NOC of ARY News.
Journalist organizations, legal experts have condemned this extreme move of the government in the strongest terms.
The notification states that the NOC issued to ARY News has been canceled with immediate effect, which will remain canceled until further notice. The NOC has been canceled based on alarming reports from the agencies.
President PFUJ Afzal Butt says that today will be remembered as a dark day in the media history of Pakistan. Aitzaz Ahsan and Babar Awan termed the government’s decision as contempt of court and said that the channel cannot be closed by this move of the Ministry of Interior.
