Defense Day speech competitions held at UO

Okara (HRNW) The competitions of Urdu and English speech in connection with Pakistan Defense Day were organized by the University of Okara’s Department of Zoology and Department of Biochemistry. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid, presided over the event. A number of male and female students delivered speeches with patriotic zeal.
In this talk during the event, the VC advised the students to become responsible citizens and strongly stick to the Pakistan Ideology. Highlighting the importance of the role of teachers, he said, “Teachers are mandated to work for the character building of the society. They should play a critical role in inculcating the national ideals among the youth.”
Commenting on the role of the armed forces, he told, “We have best army and intelligence in the world. Our enemies are trying to destabilize the country through propaganda against the forces. We need to counter this campaign in the cyberspace.”
Prof Wajid further told that they had initiated a flood relief program and all the donations collected in that campaign would be disseminated through Pakistan army in order to ensure transparency. He also vowed to establish a fund to provide free admissions to the students hailing from the affected areas.
