Intizar murder case: 3 accused acquitted, death sentence of 2 commuted to life imprisonment

KARACHI (HRNW) The Sindh High Court has given its verdict on the appeals of the named accused in the case of Intizar Hussain, a young man who was killed by policemen in defense.
The court acquitted three accused and commuted the death sentence of two accused to life imprisonment.

In the Sindh High Court, the appeals against the sentences of the named policemen in the Intizar Hussain murder case were heard.

The court acquitted the accused Tariq Mehmood, Tariq Rahim and Azhar and other three accused while the death sentence of two police officers Daniyal and Bilal was commuted to life imprisonment. The court also deleted the terrorism provisions from the case.

A 19-year-old youth, Intizar, was shot dead by ACLC personnel and officers on 13 January 2018 in the limits of Derakhshan police station.

A case was registered in Derakhshan police station on the complaint of Ishtiaq Ahmed, father of the victim.
