LG Polls: PTI rejects results, demands resignation from CEC

KARACHI: (HRNW) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the results of the local government (LG) elections in different districts of Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad that took place yesterday (January 15).

PTI leader Ali Zaidi said that the party rejects the results of local body elections and will announce the future action plan soon. “No party is ready to accept the outcomes.”

He also demanded that the chief election commissioner (CEC) and the IG Sindh should resign as the electoral process was influenced.
PTI leader also alleged that attempts were made and PPP tried to win by political engineering. “Why will people vote for those who destroyed Karachi and Sindh? Those who steal public mandate are harming the country.”

The senior leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf said that calling what happened in Karachi yesterday transparent is the biggest lie. “The Election Commission failed to conduct transparent elections and is directly involved in rigging.”

Ali Zaidi said that despite rigging, PTI won more than 70 UCs.

On the other hand, Jamat-e-Islami is also decrying the results and claiming that the results are delayed because of maneuvering.
