Unloading of soybeans from the ship has started at Karachi port

KARACHI (HRNW) Soybeans have been unloaded from ships at Karachi port.
Sources say that during 15 days, about 150,000 tons of soybeans from three cargoes have come out of the port. One and a half million tonnes of soybeans are still available on the berths of the port adjacent to Kemari.
The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency had objected to soybean handling without SOP two years ago.
The International Center of Biological Sciences has identified soybean dust as a possible cause of respiratory problems.
HEJ, University of Karachi advised extreme caution in unloading soybeans from ships.
