Khalid Maqbool condemns Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest

KARACHI: (HRNW) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), criticized the detention of Fawad Chaudhry, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that detaining anyone is wrong.

The PTI leader used to refer to Karachi residents who are arrested as “terrorists,” the MQM-P convener said in a statement to journalists in Karachi. He added that he regrets this now that he is aware of the pains associated with being detained.

In response to a query, Khalid Maqbool stated that the illness of Babar Ghori’s mother was the reason for the former leader’s return to Pakistan and that MQM-doors P’s were open for him.

He said that the MQM-P would determine whether to run in by-elections for the National Assembly at the Rabata committee meeting after withdrawing from the elections due to a “violation of its rights.”
