Karachi (HRNW) Sindh Women’s Development Minister Syeda Shehla Raza has said that violence against women on the basis of gender is not acceptable in any way. While the policy for improving post-shelter lives of women survivors of violence needs further improvement. She expressed these views while addressing a policy meeting on the topic of “Improving Post-Shelter Lives of Women Survivors of Violence” at Marriot Hotel Islamabad under the Department of Women Development Sindh and Rozan. The main purpose of which was to finalize the post-shelter policy for the socio-economic rehabilitation of women and girls who survived violence, including minority women. She said that the performance of Sindh Women’s Development Department for solving the problems related to women and girls is far better and satisfactory than other provinces. She said that the department has successfully solved dozens of such cases which seemed to be unsolvable, but there is also a role of NGOs that become a means of communication between the people and the institution. She said that the implementation of this project is successfully being implemented in Hyderabad and Sukkur with Rozan and we are trying to correct even the smallest flaw. She said that as a result of the opinions of the relevant experts, we are trying hard to make such women survivors of violence who have taken shelter in safe places (shelter houses) socio-economically dignified in the society.
