UO & District Police hold sessions on women safety & career counseling

Okara (HRNW) The University of Okara, in collaboration with the district police authorities, organized an awareness seminar on ‘Women Safety & Harassment’ followed by a career counseling session for the children of the martyrs. Both the events were presided by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmad.
The seminar on ‘Women Safety & Harassment’ was organized by the Director Student Affairs, Dr Amjad Ali. Monzza Karamat, Assistant Superintendent of Police at Renala Khurd, delivered special lecture at this eve. She imparted awareness on cyber security, privacy breach at social media and precautionary measures for the sale and purchase of smart phones. She also guided the students on the effective usage of Women Safety App of the Punjab Police.
Prof Sajid, addressing to the participants, thanked the ASP for sharing useful information with the students. He further said, “Unfortunately, we do not deliver such necessary awareness to students in our educational institutions. It should start from the very beginning.”
The career counseling event was arranged by the Director Career Counselling, Dr Nasrin Akhter. The District Police Officer Okara, Capt. ® Mansoor Amaan was the keynote speaker. He told that the district police authorities were working on a plan to help the children of the martyrs in securing admissions and to provide them with financial support for their education. He applauded the support of the VC for arranging such events.
The VC, in his talk, said that the teachers needed to guide the students through their career paths from the very outset. Moreover, he revealed that his administration would engage various firms to organize job fairs at the UO.
