KARACHI (HRNW) The alleged police encounter in New Town area of Karachi has become suspicious. Relatives protested outside the New Town police station against the death of a youth named Akmal in an alleged encounter. The relatives have accused the police of killing Akmal in custody.
In the encounter, the police could not recover any type of weapon or any other prohibited items from the deceased Akmal. The relatives of the slain youth Akmal have demanded from the top police authorities to conduct a transparent investigation into the incident and take action against the police personnel. The heirs and residents of the area protested on the road and raised anti-police slogans. The family members claim that the police took Akmal away after a bitter altercation, after which the news of his death came to light.
