ISLAMABAD (HRNW) Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Thursday sent a defamation notice to PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz.
The notice, citing allegations by Ms Nawaz levelled against Ms Bushra, was sent by Advocate Faisal Fareed wherein former first lady sought an unconditional apology from Ms Nawaz within seven days. “If Ms Nawaz does not take her words back, she will be proceeded against defamation under Pakistan Penal Code (PPC),” the notice stated.
The notice further highlighted that Ms Bushra was a God-fearing woman adding that Ms Nawaz had been running a campaign against her to defame her and her family. “Organised defamation campaign for political purposes could land Ms Nawaz five years in jail,” the notice read.
