Karachi : (HRNW)  Provincial Minister for Excise , Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that officers and staff members, who perform their duties efficiently, are the pride of every department and I am proud that the officers/officials of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Sindh. have always shown excellent performance and for the past several years, have not only achieved more than 100% tax targets but have taken vigorous action against drug peddlers in the province.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony of awarding certificates and shields to the officers and staff members of the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department for their outstanding performance against drug peddlers at a local hotel. Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Sindh Atif Rehman Khan, Director Generals Waheed Sheikh, Aurangzeb Panhwar, all Divisional Directors and other officers were also present on this occasion.

Provincial Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla further said that drugs are a poison and it is the primary responsibility of all of us to stop youth from using it and discourage drug dealers and all stakeholders need to work together in this regard. He said, ” I am proud that I have been the minister of this department for the last 14 years and I have had the full support of the officers and staff of the department.

In recognition of the services of officers and staff members, a dinner will be organized in Karachi for all employees of ET & NC Department in the first week of August “. At the end of the ceremony, Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Secretary Atif Rehman Khan, Director Generals Waheed Shaikh and Aurangzeb Panhwar distributed certificates/shields of appreciation to the officers/officials who have shown outstanding performance against drug dealers across the province.

Deputy Director Saeed Memon performed the duties of compering in the ceremony. Director General Narcotics Control Department Waheed Sheikh, Directors Zulfiqar Shahani, Iqbal Leghari, Karim Dad Abbasi, Sher Mohammad Sheikh, Dara Ghani and other officers Zahoor Mazari, Fayaz Shah, Waseem Khawaja, Abdul Haq Marri, Qamaruddin Sial, Aamir Kalwar, Faraz Soomro, Sohail Abbas Sohto, Ali Hasan Dashti and Rahim Bakhsh Sanjrani were among who feceived appreciation certificates/shoelds.
