COAS Munir stresses preparedness for safeguarding national security

RAWALPINDI (HRNW) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Monday said the country should be prepared to counter any threat to the national security.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that COAS presided over a Corps Commanders’ Conference that paid rich tribute to soldiers who sacrificed lives for the country and informed the participants of the current situation.

The conference also reviewed the army’s operational preparedness, the ISPR said. “TTP and other terrorist outfits have safe havens in the country and they are creating problems in the country,” the ISPR added.

The ISPR reported COAS Munir as saying that objective training was a specialty of Pakistan Army’s professional competence.
The conference also informed the forum of plans for economic revival and the scope of investment in the country. “The army was briefed on sectors of agriculture, IT, minerals, and defence production,” the ISPR said.

The participants vowed to support the government’s efforts to revive economy.
