Karachi (HRNW) Director General Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhar Hussain along with his team has paid a surprise visit to Habib Public University Karachi. The kitchen in the university was found to be in very poor condition and expired meat was found in the kitchen. Due to this situation, the kitchen operation of the university was temporarily suspended and the meat was destroyed while a fine of five lac rupees was also imposed. Speaking on the occasion of the visit, Director General Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhar Hussain has warned the kitchen / canteen owners of public and private educational institutions across Sindh to maintain the quality of their respective kitchen / canteen in accordance with health norms and follow the rules of Sindh Food Authority otherwise they will not only be fined and other legal action will also be taken against these kitchens/canteens. He said that Sindh Food Authority would not compromise on health principles and following health principles was the primary responsibility of all institutions.
