Electricity supply from Guddu Power Plant remains suspended despite passage of two days

KASHMORE (HRNW) – The power supply from Guddu Thermal Power Plant could not be restored as authorities were unable to repair the technical fault despite the lapse of 48 hours. The power breaker at switch yard had caught fire due to a technical fault.

The power breaker at Guddu Thermal Power Plant could not been repaired despite passing two days.

After occurrence of the technical fault, the high transmission lines of 500 KV also tripped. According to officials, four transmission lines supplying power suffered tripping.

Several areas including Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Muzaffargarh, Sibi, Dera Ghazi Khan have been affected with electricity blackout.

Various areas of Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan have power outage since 5 hours.  Authorities say the situation will persist until sun comes out.

The purchase of new breaker could take 15 days, authorities in Guddu Thermal House said. That breaker had got fire due to malfunctioning.
