KOHAT (HRNW) – Policemen were among four persons were martyred on Wednesday after terrorists carried out an attack in the Lachi area of Kohat, as law enforcers remain the prime target of banned outfits in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to details, more than armed men targeted a check post near Lachi Toll Plaza – some 28 kilometres south of Kohat, resulting in martyrdom of three policemen and a civilian.
The attack triggered a gunfight that lasted for a while after which the terrorists were forced flee. A large contingent of police was later rushed to the area where a search operation has been launched.
Head Constable Amjad, Head Constable Junaid, Constable Waqar and Noor Muhammad – a citizen – have been identified as victims.
