Supreme Court greenlights Sanam Javed, Shaukat Basra’s electoral race

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – The Supreme Court on Friday allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf nominees Sanam Javed and Shaukat Basra to contest the upcoming elections.

A three-member bench, headed by Justice Muneeb Akhtar, heard the appeals against the rejection of papers.

The court allowed Sanam Javed to contest elections from NA-120, 119 and PP-150. The other applicant, Shaukat Basra, is a candidate from NA-163.

The court ordered the Election Commission to allot symbols to both.

The top court also asserted on the occasion that elections should be held in these constituencies on Feb 8 as per the schedule.
