A delegation of the ICOHR, led by Chairman Muhammad Aslam Elahi, met Pakistan’s former ambassador to Kenya, Hameed Qadwai

Karachi (HRNW) Yesterday, a delegation of the International Commission on Human Rights, led 
by Chairman Muhammad Aslam Elahi, met Pakistan's former ambassador to Kenya, Hameed Qadwai.

On this occasion, the delegation of ICHR gave a special briefing to Hameed Qadwai about 
their project on child and bonded labor, in which the steps taken by the 
government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Human Rights for child and bonded labor 
were further expanded and also informed about the usefulness of a special project prepared 
for the elimination of child labor and bonded labor in Pakistan.

Honorable former ambassador appreciated the efforts of the International Commission on 
Human Rights and assured them of his cooperation, Hameed Qadwai gave useful advice to 
the commission to reach the international level regarding its work.

On behalf of the International Commission on Human Rights, Chairman Muhammad Aslam Elahi
briefly highlighted the detailed points of his project.
Later Director Research and Policy Advocate Nadeem Ahmed and Director Legal Advocate Agha Amir
Mukhtar, Director Planning Talat Abbas Shah, Director Coordination Tariq Mehmood Khattak, 
Director Technology and Innovation Hamza Iqbal, Special Coordinator and Director Women Cell 
Yusri Iqbal, Law Officer Ayman Ibrahim and Project Manager Simreenwala presented 
Hameed Qadwai with his views on the impact of this special project and the reasons why 
child labor and bonded labor rates in Pakistan have been largely reduced as a result of 
its implementation.
The honorable former ambassador expressed his happiness on the work of the commission and 
expressed his best wishes for the commission.
It should be noted that the Chairman of the International Commission on Human Rights,
Muhammad Aslam Elahi, has been invited by the Federal Minister for Human Rights and Justice 
for a meeting in Islamabad along with the delegation and the delegation of the commission 
will soon meet him in Islamabad.
