Manpower will be enhance for effective operations of Sindh Excise Narcotics Control

KARACHI (HRNW) The Government of Sindh has decided to increase manpower to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of excise narcotics control operations.

An important high-level meeting was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. The meeting was attended by Secretary of Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Saleem Rajput, DG Narcotics Control Usman Ghani Siddiqui, and other officers.
In the meeting, it was also decided to fully activate the Excise Department’s checkpoints on the highways and to construct new checkpoints on the inter-provincial borders.
Speaking at the meeting, Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Sharjeel Inam Memon said that checkpoints on highways will be made fully operational and new checkpoints will be constructed on inter-provincial border routes. Excise officials will be posted at these checkpoints at all times to ensure effective checking, similar to other forces.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon issued orders to start the construction of checkpoints on time as per the decision. Additionally, it was decided in the meeting to transfer more than 100 constables from the motor vehicle wing to the narcotics control wing.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that to strengthen the Narcotics Control Wing, its manpower will be increased, and drug testing in educational institutions will be started soon, with preparations in this regard in the final stages. He emphasized that drugs are eroding society and called for daily actions to combat this issue. He instructed the implementation of an effective system of snap checking to prevent the spread of drugs.
At the meeting, DG Narcotics Control Usman Ghani Siddiqui provided a detailed briefing on anti-narcotics operations.
