KARACHI (HRNW) – Strict security measures have been put in place for renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Dr Zakir Naik in Karachi.
Police officials have stated that his security has been assigned to the Special Security Unit (SSU).
On Oct 2 (Wednesday), Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Mayor of Karachi Murtaza Wahab will welcome Dr Naik at the Karachi airport.
Dr Naik is scheduled to meet prominent figures including Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Munibur Rehman, as well as Jamia Rashid head Mufti Abdul Rahim, among others.
He will visit an important government institution on Oct 4, and deliver a speech at the Quaid’s mausoleum on Oct 5. His private meetings are planned from Oct 7 to 10.
Dr Naik is scheduled to depart for Lahore from Karachi on the morning of Oct 11.
Dr Zakir Naik arrived in Islamabad on Monday and he was welcomed by Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashhood and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Attaur Rehman.
