Karachi (HRNW): The government plans to establish 117 centers across the city over fears of a likely heatstroke, HRNW News reported.This was revealed by reports filed in the Sindh High Court by the Commissioner Karachi and other departments over preparations to prevent losses from the heatstroke.
Besides that, there would be uninterrupted electricity supply to the water board and hospitals, and directions have been issued to K-Electric to stop load shedding during it.
Last year’s heatwave in Karachi proved to be a brutal one since more than two thousand people died during the heat wave across the city. The loss of lives was further aggravated by electricity and water shortages. However, the authorities claim that adequate preparations have been made to prevent any such catastrophes this time.
