Karachi (HRNW):  PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that a whole generation has failed to check and control the menace of corruption in the country and pledged that the new generation will take on this evil syndrome with fullest power.In a press statement on Tuesday, Bilawal Bhutto said all the institutions established to tackle the issue of growing corruption and bribery have added to the white collar crimes instead of eliminating.

“NAB, FIA, Courts and other establishments set up for the purpose made no mark and corruption continued to penetrate and flourish in our society without any plausible hindrance,” he added.

The PPP Chairman said that the new generation was fully aware of the fact that accountability had been used as tool to target selective individuals for political rivalries. Lack of fair and transparent mechanism to curb corruption caused too much loss to our nation, he stated pledging that now is the time that new generation shall build up strong institutions to cleanse the menace and settle the issue once for all.

He pointed out that sacred cows syndrome has also harmed the accountability initiatives and any future step against corruption should not treat anyone as holy cows for an honest and effective accountability.

He said that Panama Leaks have shaken several parts of world and the jolts are being severely felt in our country also. This is an issue that a whole generation could not tackle and now the responsibility should shift to the new generation to create tools and mechanism to eradicate the corruption syndrome and make the society completely free from it.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that he plans to initiate steps and legislations for a transparent system of corruption control to ensure an across the board accountability both horizontally and vertically.
