Karachi (HRNW)- Accountability Court awarded conviction to four accused persons in Ref No18/2017. Then accused persons namely Mohammad Sabir and Muhammad Shahid Iqbal both are sons of Muhammad Iqbal, private persons convicted for rigorous imprisonment of 10 years & Rs.19.701 Million fine, each respectively.
Nonetheless, accused Shahid Shamim S/o Fazal Hussain Shamim, FBR Inland Revenue Officer convicted for rigorous imprisonment of 05 years and fine worth Rs.1.714 Million and accused Shamim Akhtar S/o Naushad Ali Khan, FBR Inland Revenue Officer convicted for rigorous imprisonment of 05 years and pay fine worth Rs.1.114 Million.
The accused persons in connivance with each other availed illegal Sales Tax Refund against fake and flying invoices on manufacturing of zero rated supplies with malafide intention and caused huge loss of Rs.111.477 Million to the National Exchequers.
