Lewandowski and Coman to miss Munich’s Qatar training camp

Stirker Robert Lewandowski and winger Kingsley Coman will not take part in Bayern Munich’s winter break training camp in Qatar, the Bundesliga champions said on Friday.

League top scorer Lewandowski is to train in Munich after groin surgery on December 21, and so is Coman who suffered a knee injury in mid-December.

Hansi Flick’s team leaves for Doha on Saturday for a week-long camp. Their first Bundesliga match is January 19 at Hertha Berlin, with Lewandowski expected to be fully fit again by then.

Also not in Doha are Javi Martinez and Niklas Suele who are recovering from injury and are in rehabilitation.

The seven-time reigning champions Bayern are third after the first half of the season, four points behind leaders RB leipzig.
