Karachi (HRNW) Headed by magistrate, ACE East Zone raids at KDA & Engineering Office of KMC and seized record of illegal contracts worth Rs.800 M, awarded to handpicked companies. ACE arrested accused Zaheer Abbas, XEN and also books two secretaries of BS 21 in FIR.
Against illegal award of KDA works contracts worth Rs.800 M by a racket of officers of Local Govt, KDA and KMC in favor of handpicked contractors in lieu of huge bribe & kickbacks in year 2019. ACE East zone conducted raid at the office of Zaheer Abbas,XEN KMC, who being an officer of KMC issued work orders against the development work in KDA roads schemes. The schemes were neither in annual list of schemes, nor they were in budget book of KDA. As such, Secretary Local Govt, appointed one XEN Zaheer Abbas for special task to award of work orders in schemes in question in favor of handpicked contractors. Meanwhile, agreement with beneficiary contractors was executed & signed by the then DG KDA Badar Jameel Mendhro.
