Sindh cabinet insists on appointment of new IG

KARACHI (HRNW) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah chaired the provincial cabinet meeting on Tuesday which insisted on appointment of the new provincial Inspector General (IG) of Police, Dunya News reported.

The cabinet maintained that the federal government should appoint the individual as the new IG which both parties had agreed upon, or from the five names that the Sindh government had forwarded. It also expressed reservations over discriminatory behavior with Sindh.

Syed Murad Ali Shah remarked that Prime Minister Imran Khan will decide when to remove Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam, the current IG, and appoint new police chief. The CM said that the provincial government is also ready to brief the federal cabinet over the matter.
