Irregularities and malpractices not to be tolerated in Cooperative Housing Societies

Karachi (HRNW)- Sindh minister for Industries and Commerce & Cooperative Department and Anti-corruption Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo has asked the concerned officers to file references regarding irregularities and maladministration in cooperative societies to NAB, Anti-corruption and FIA as per case. This he said while presiding over a review meeting here in his office on Monday. Secretary Cooperative Department Akhtar Inayat Burghari, Registrar Cooperative Department Sohail Baloch and other officers also attended the meeting. The meeting was briefed that a certain number of inquiries were being run by NAB, Anti-Corruption and FIA.

Provincial Minister Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo directed them to cooperate with investigative agencies so that the people might get justice on time. He also directed to lodge FIRs against those who were found involved in financial emblezment and also take action against staff if they were involved in corruption and complete internal inquiries at earliest. Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo added, ‘ Department should keep an eye on un- authorized cooperative societies and do not sit as a silent spectator’. He asked them to establish a complaint centre and keep record properly of the complaints and dispose them of timely.

Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce & Cooperative Department and Anti-corruption Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo directed them to prepare a software on Cooperative Societies to maintain a proper data of the societies and ensure regular audit of the Cooperative Housing Societies. He warned them that he would not tolerate any lethargic attitude and no one would be spared if found in malpractices. He said that proper action should be taken against land grabbers in cooperative societies and if needed, seek help of law enforcement agencies. Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo asked them to take action against those cooperative societies in which elections were not held regularly.
