PCG organizes ceremony to burning the drugs, Governor Sindh attended

Karachi (HRNW)- Pakistan Coast Guards annual drug destruction / burning ceremony was held near Hassan Shah Mazar (General Area Port Qasim),
Every year, the event is organized under the auspices of Pakistan Coast Guards to renew / create awareness in the society against the menace of the narcotic in the country.
Traditionally, the ceremony is witnessed by the honorable members of the Judiciary, Drug Liaison Officers of different countries, UNODC, INL-P, representatives of the various agencies of Inter Agency Task Force and people from different walks of life. Honouarable Mr. Imran Ismail, Governor Sindh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Chief Guest also distributed commendation certificates amongst the officers and officials of Pakistan Coast Guards for their significant contribution in Narcotics seizures. Brig Saqib Qamar, DG PCG also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements and contribution of the Force.
This year Pakistan Coast Guards Burned 15043.6 Kgs of Hashish, 16.5 Kgs of Heroin, 228.430 Kgs of Crystal, 56 Tons of betel nut, 21203 Pkts Gutka and destroyed 7631 bottles of Liquor & 167 Tins of Beer. Approx value of the narcotics and drugs in international market is 194.52 Million Dollars
(Rs.30 Billions). Pakistan Coast Guards stands firm to its commitment to fight the menace of drug & narcotics with “Zero Tolerance” following the Government directives in true letter and spirit and will not let any stone unturned to achieve the sacrosanct objective of “Drug Free Pakistan”.
