Second phase of Ehsaas program payments gets underway

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – The next phase of cash payments through Ehsaas Program to deserving people in second category has started. The deserving people will receive Rs 12,000 after complete verification of their data.

According to Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety to Prime Minister Dr Sania Nishtar, awareness in people regarding the emergency cash payments will be increased over the next seven days. In the first phase, women were given preference during distribution while in the second phase, the preference will be men.

Dr Sania Nishtar said that till now around 83.6 million messages have been received for the assistance while the last date of registration for the program is set at April 19 2020.

She said that up till now, 3.134 million deserving households have received a total of Rs 37.6 billion in aid from the Ehsaas program.
