Sindh Govt distributed 3.5 lac bags of Ration in province: Imtiaz Sheikh

Karachi (HRNW)- Sindh Government keeping in view the COVID 19 crisis has sanctioned and released RS 1.08 billions for the distribution of ration bags and till this evening more than one lac ration bags were distributed in Karachi, and all over Sindh more than 3 .5 lac bags were distributed at the door steps of deserving people.

Such promise was made by Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah. This was disclosed by Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh who has been given the task by Sindh Chief Minister Sindh to Supervise and monitor the ration distribution system in the province.

Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh said this is centralized system, no involvement of politics and ration is being distributed through all the Deputy commissioners.
When asked that oppostion claims that these Deputy Commissioners are corrupt,
Minister said if they were corrupt than why the Federal government gave them the task to distribute cash RS 12000 under the Ehsas program.
He said Chief Minister was personally monitoring the distribution system and in such serious crisis some flaws may be reported but the DCs have to be given some time to check The authenticity.
Imtiaz said government was fully aware of the problems of the people due to low lockdown which is continued since more than 28 days and we are facing this virus challenge which has taken in it’s grip all the world even the Super Power America.

He said Sindh government has limited resources and we need more funds from the center to provide ration bags to the needy and deserving people When asked traders are mounting pressure to open the markets He said if we open the markets area will get crowded and if the virus increases who would be responsible. Imtiaz said for Sindh Chief minister human life safety is more important than opening the markets.

Referring to the opening of markets he said it will be decided tonight . Imtiaz said lockdown is decided daily by the team of doctors it is not the decision of Sindh CM. He further said we are also trying to provide professional Equipment kits to doctors and paramedical staff for their safety who
are saving the lives of people by taking risk.

He urged the people to remain indoors for their own safety and others.
