Food expenditures of Pakistanis reduced by 25 percent: Gallup

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – The food expenditures of Pakistanis reduced by 25 percent due to the coronavirus lockdown.

According to a survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan in April, 6.9 million families have cut their kitchen budget including 27 percent urban population and 20 percent rural population.

Furthermore, 19 percent people do not have any savings either at home or bank. Ten million people in cities have adopted alternative source of income.

The survey further stated that three million families are depending on government or NGOs while 1.8 million families have sold their assets during the lockdown to meets expenses.
