Karachi association wants schools to reopen after Eid

Karachi (HRNW) The Private Schools Association of Karachi has demanded that it should be allowed to reopen schools after Eid.

In a media briefing on Tuesday, the association’s president, Tariq Shah, said that now that everything else in the country was resuming, schools should also be granted permission to reopen amid SOPs.

“We appeal to the chief justice that a suo moto action should be taken concerning the opening of schools,” he said.

“According to an international study, students between the age of one to 17 are less likely to catch the virus because of their strong immunity,” Shah said, emphasising that there was no point in keeping schools closed as the prime minister has also said that residents now have to live with the virus.

He added that it will be easy to supervise children as they will divide the students in each class into half. “When students enter the school, they will be screened for fever, will be provided gloves and sanitisers.”
