Ejaz Shah calls on PM Imran, Interior Ministry report presented

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – Interior Minister Brigadier (Retd) Ijaz Shah and Special Assistant to PM for Accountability Shahzad Akbar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday and briefed him regarding various issues.

The Interior Minister presented the performance report of Interior Ministry and its various departments for the last twenty months (August 2018 to April 2020) to the PM.

During the meeting, the Home Minister said that in this period, the National Action Plan was revived for National Internal Security and a 14-member high-level committee of experts has been formed which will present its recommendations on various issues within a month.

Imran Khan was informed that in line with his vision for the promotion of investment and tourism in the country, electronic visas have been introduced for 175 countries, which has made it much easier to obtain Pakistani visa. A comprehensive policy has been formulated for the complete eradication of terrorism from the country, especially for the prevention of terrorist financing.

Imran Khan was also informed that a High Level Steering Committee is working towards tackling the scourge of smuggling, which has caused irreparable damage to the country’s economy and industry, so that it can be eliminated once and for all.
